Projects
These pages will have details about the projects I have done both professionally and personally, Separated by the relevant technology.
Smaller Projects #
WSUS Rebuild #
As anyone who knows WSUS, It needs constant maintenance and sometimes it is easier to rebuild the server than to get it working.
So over time I had rebuilt the WSUS server a couple of times.
This mostly consisted of a wipe and rebuild of the WSUS Service, and improving the deployment and update schedules.
I Later started to try alternative database options than the inbuilt database service.
Various Server Installations #
Various installs of Windows Server 2012 Onwards.
This including RO/DCs, WSUS, File Servers, Database Servers, IIS, SharePoint Self Hosted, Various licensing services.
Setting up of the networking, firewalls, Domain connection and other general setup.
This has been a mixture of Virtualized and Physical Hardware, but mainly on Hyper-V Based virtualization professionally.
In My personal work its been ESXI 6/7/8 and some Proxmox.
Classroom Renovation #
2 X Normal classrooms, being converted into IT Suites, with a second in late Quote Stage.
This involved liaising with Benching and cabling companies, to get the physical work done.
Patching the computers into the right places in the cabs, building & imaging 60+ Computers Including non deployed software.
All of this within a short time frame with minimal disruptions to the site (as it was done in term time) and with minimal disruption to normal tech work.
Personal PC Build #
Not much to say about this, but I build and maintain my own PC. I Am looking at doing a full rebuild in the next year or so.
GSuite Migration #
This was moving a Small primary school from on Domain Exchange and an old 2008R2 File server onto GSuite.
This included complete ownership over the setup and movement of the files.
This was started over Covid so was done quite quickly to a minimum product and then everything else moved over slowly.
Before I left the role they had started heavily using google drive and classroom and were in discussions of a Date to move emails over fully (as a cold migration was done successfully)
